Dell UP2516D Review

Dell UP2516D Review

The Dell UP2516D monitor is an excellent budget-friendly choice for professional photographers and digital artists.

It has a QHD resolution of 2560×1440 and covers 100% of the sRGB spectrum, providing lots of vivid colors and deep, rich blacks.

Other features like the built-in KVM and PIP/PBP features round out a really nice 25-inch monitor for the price.

Quad-HD Resolution

Not to be confused with 4K or UHD standards. Quad-HD (or QHD for short) is four times the resolution of a 720p display.

UHD (or 4K) is actually four times the resolution of a 1080p display.

The resolution of this monitor sits at 2560×1440 pixels and falls right between Full HD 1080p and the new 4K UHD resolution of 3840×2160.

Honestly, for a monitor of this size, this resolution is quite ample. UHD on a 25-inch monitor would be overkill, in my most humble opinion.

Can some people take advantage of resolutions known for creating microscopic text? Sure, but to the average person, this isn’t necessary.

QHD resolution provides ample working spaces for most photography and video editing applications.

Premier Color

The main reason why someone would want to purchase this monitor is its outstanding color gamut.

This display covers 100% of the sRGB spectrum providing color representation that is extremely accurate.

If you’re a photographer or video producer you know just how important this is. If your monitor is off, all of your work will be off as well.

I think that this is a really unique feature that is hard to find. This monitor will allow you to connect multiple computers and switch between them effortlessly with a single keyboard and mouse.

Digital professionals often have a desktop and a laptop computer they use, depending on whether they are in the office or out in the field.

Being able to connect your laptop to your monitor, keyboard, and mouse quickly and easily at the office is an important time-saving feature.

PIP and PBP

This monitor supports Picture in Picture and Picture by Picture. While most people are familiar with PIP that televisions have long supported, Picture by Picture will allow you to have two video inputs side-by-side on your display.

This allows you to manage two PCs simultaneously.

The built-in KVM makes this even easier by allowing you to switch inputs on the fly.
