Let’s have a look at the players to keep an eye on in IPL 2021.
In the IPL 2021 auction, all the teams have picked up young talents as per their records in domestic careers. Later, the IPL gives them exposure to play in front of a huge crowd, deal with glamour, and experience high standards of cash-rich leagues.
We are expecting lesser-known players to come and show their talent in IPL 2021. As this season didn’t have a Ranji Trophy, it is crucial for unknown talents to come and show their skills.
So, this IPL doesn’t forget to watch out for the lesser-known talents while participating in fantasy cricket games. Here is a list of talents that we will look out for this season.
- Mohammad Azharuddin
At the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy 2021, Mohammad Azharuddin made headlines when he smashed a brilliant century. The Kerala player scored 137 runs from just 52 balls against a strong Mumbai team at the Wankhede Stadium.
He was an absolute spectacle and after that people started praising his efforts and his skills. Later, Royal Challengers Bangalore bid for the 26-year old wicketkeeper-batsmen for the 20 lakh base price. As per the RCB line-up, we are sure to see Azharuddeen play some matches for the franchise.
2. Shahrukh Khan
The 25-year-old Shahrukh Khan is a young domestic cricketer who already has excited fans and selectors. Since his debut, he has been an important part of the Tamil Nadu team. He is a hard-hitting batsman with an ability to bowl too.
In the 2021 IPL auction, the number of teams interested in bidding for him was tremendous. He was finally roped by Kings XI Punjab for INR 5.25 crores.
3. Marco Jansen
When Marco Jansen was picked by Mumbai Indians at the IPL auction 2021, he wasn’t recognized by many fans. Even people might not know him internationally; this left-arm pacer has been making some noise in the South African domestic series. He made his debut in 2018 and has been giving some first-class numbers.
If Marco Jansen gets an opportunity this season, then it will be interesting to watch him play and show his skills.
4. Harishankar Reddy
Harishankar Reddy is one of the fast-paced bowlers that seems to have a great prospect for the future. His young talent came into recognition when he was delivering yorkers at a local match just for fun. This created a hype for the young 22-year-old pacer.
We can’t debate about the quality of Reddy’s bowling. He can bowl quickly with a little bit of swing and with good yorkers that are difficult for any batsman to pick.
He put an impressive show in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy 2021 and was later headed to the camps of Chennai Super Kings on the base price of 20 Lakh. The young talent is sure to perform well if given a chance and can also become a new name under the leadership of MS Dhoni.
5. Chetan Sakariya
Chetan Sakariya was one of the most impressive fast bowlers in the Syed Mushtaq Ali T20 Trophy. He was playing for Saurashtra and in just 5 matches, he picked up 12 wickets. He also bowled 5 for 11 against Vidarbha. With this kind of performance, he was sure to get attention in the IPL 2021 auction.
The young left arm-pacer was bought by Rajasthan Royals at the base price of 20 lakhs after a challenging bidding war with Royal Challengers Bangalore. He is sure to stand-out if he is given a chance.
