  2. great news guys. Keep up the great work

  3. This is freaking awesome!!! Dual boot ftw!

  4. that looks really good, and some quick questions, I have a 16 gb touchpad, and if I am able to dual boot, hoe much memory will it take to do so? I only use my touchpad for school work so It rally won’t matter that much. Thanks and keep up the great work guys!!!!

  5. @Kumar So far, it takes up around 1.5 GB this may change. but, 16G is plenty for both webos and android and possibly linux. Thanks for the nice comments.

  6. This is pretty great. Seems like you guys are making good progress. When the port is finished and everything is it a difficult process to load another is onto the touchpad? I ask cause I don’t have much experience at any of this. I was able to get preware installed but that was very basic

  7. Thanks for the work :) ! Keep working like this, you guys are great :D !

  8. Amazing work guys !

  9. Will this also be able for the palm pre?

    • The team doesn’t have any plans to work on the pre at this time. This does not mean that another team will pick up the project once we have android on the touchpad and port it to the pre. Only time will tell.

  10. just curious. is this solution a tethered or untethered one? i realize that you have to keep the touchpad attached via usb to send it commands now because the touchscreen doesn’t work, but will it boot android without being plugged in to the usb?

i remember how several of the old iphone jailbreaks used to be tethered, and i know that you guys are definitely aiming for an untethered install.

also, keep up the incredible work. i really enjoy webos, but i would love to use my favorite android apps on my touchpad.

    • That’s a good question… The current method requires we load the new kernel into memory via bootie. However once support for all functions of the device is in place the team will replace the webos kernel with a dual boot compatible kernel thus not requiring a tether each time you want to switch os’s.

  11. Does dual share the same file etc (music, video, PDF, picture? )

  12. ahh ahhh owww…..jiz in my pants.
    Killer work guys.

  13. Thank you to the team for putting such good work and time into this project.

  14. hey guys, fantastic work :-)
I’m curious would you be able to share details of how you booted this Kern as I found a promising branch of the code aurora project which appears to have touchpad drivers present (the touch screen) and would like to give it a boot

  15. Really nice. Is there any possible way to support you guys?

  16. hey guys,

I just came accross this on the web :
    http://hp-kryptonite.info/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=28&sid=d4580c5c8aca49ddbb65e432b2f88b9e

Is there anyway it can help (if you did not already know about this…) ?

  17. Great job guys!!! Keep up the momentum, I bought a touchpad in anticipation some smart person or persons will hack and port android….many thanks.
